We are often asked about steam cleaning tile and grout. STEAMDRY does not use steam to clean. We use a process called hot water extraction to clean grout, which is often referred to as steam cleaning. To clean tile and grout, we use specific cleaning solutions, agitation, scrubbing and high pressure hot water to remove the soil deeply imbedded in the tile and grout.

At STEAMDRY, we use an exclusive method for water damage restoration called “Vortex” drying, which is simply, “in place drying”. For an average size room it will take about 20 minutes. This time can definitely vary depending on the furniture that is moved, how soiled the carpet is, and any stain removal or urine treatments that may be necessary.

Yes. There is no charge to move furniture but we do limit it to living and dining areas typically. We will also replace the furniture and use foil tabs or foam blocks to protect it and the carpet. We strongly encourage you to remove items off of your furniture like electronics, plants, lamps and other potentially breakable items. There are some items that we will not move: pianos, electronics, entertainment centers, china cabinets, beds, dressers, pool tables, etc.

Dry time is influenced by humidity, temperature, and air flow. Typically, It can take 6 to 24 hours for the carpet to completely dry. Using fans, air conditioning, heat will help accelerate the dry time. It is important to leave the protective blocks or foil tabs under furniture legs the carpet and/or furniture is completely dry to avoid any color transfer. You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning, but avoid wearing street shoes, as they may re-soil your carpet. Using old towels in traffic areas can also be helpful. Be particularly careful when walking from damp, carpeted areas on to non-carpeted areas to avoid slipping.
